Welcome to the website of the Huntingdonshire Women’s Bowling Federation (HWBF). We are one of 13 counties in England who play under Federation rules and are affiliated to the English Women’s Bowling Federation (EWBF) which was formed in 1945.
The Executive and Selection Committees of the HWBF are elected at the AGM held in November each year
We are closely connected to the HBF, the county men’s group with the HBF founded in 1956 and the HWBF founded in 1962. For HBF visit http://huntsbowlsfed.wordpress.com. All under 25 competitions (male & female) are organised by the HBF but we will endeavour to duplicate all Under 25 matches on this site.
All local clubs within the county can affiliate to the HWBF and enter bowlers into the county competitions, indoor and outdoor. All winners then go through to the National Finals, Skegness for the outdoor game and Newark for indoors.
The county enters teams into two National outdoor competitions, the Donald Steward and the Silver Jubilee Vase, with the 13 counties split into two divisions, North and South. The winner from each division plays the final in Skegness.
The last time HWBF won one of these trophies was the Silver Jubilee Vase in 2013, a great achievement as Huntingdonshire is one of the smallest counties
